Staff Spotlight – Laura Teasdale

ABO is pleased to welcome Laura Teasdale as our new administrative specialist. Laura joined the team in October and quickly got to work helping Diplomates with year-end MOC submissions.

A graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, Laura studied to become a recreational therapist. However, a fluke conversation with an employment agency took her down a different path into the hospitality industry. She was told she had the perfect personality to be a concierge. “I had never heard the term ‘concierge’ before that day, but it sounded like something I would really enjoy,” said Laura. Not only did she become a concierge, but she went on to become the president of the St. Louis Concierge Association and was named St. Louis Concierge of the Year.

“As a concierge, I worked closely with the sales and catering team assisting with meeting planners needs and planning off-site group events. This was my favorite part of my job, so I decided to pursue a career in meeting planning.”  Laura was elected to the board of the St. Louis Chapter of Meeting Planners International. She earned her CMP (certified meeting professional), so she is able to relate to the time and dedication it takes to earn and maintain a certification.

Laura is involved with multiple projects at ABO and has been integral in getting the CAP assessments approved in several key states. She is also responsible for reviewing and approving Diplomates’ MOC plans, submitting quarterly webinar attendance to ARBO and verifying new candidate credentials. And in early 2022, ABO will begin using a revised audit process for CE, which Laura worked to develop.

A St. Louis native, Laura loves being a pet parent to her Maltese, Holly. She also enjoys doing a variety of outdoor activities and tends to participate in the latest fad activities such as kickball, pickleball and river walking. She loves beach vacations, especially during the winter, but dreams of visiting Greece, Italy, Costa Rica and taking an African Safari.
