The end of 2023 is quickly approaching! If this is the fourth year of your MOC cycle and you are behind in meeting requirements, call our office for assistance with getting back on track! Board certification is a valuable credential and an accomplishment in your professional career. Don’t let it lapse! We’ll work with you to get those requirements completed. And remember, MOC requirements were streamlined in January 2023. Current requirements are 100 hours of CE and 7 passed CAP assessments.

Don’t miss our next webinar on November 8, 2023 at 8:00 pm ET!  Jenelle Mallios, OD will present Pediatrics Made Easy: Tips for Pediatric Eye Exams and Prescribing. This course is to help primary care optometrists be comfortable in managing pediatric patients with topics including infant and pediatric eye exams, including tests most appropriate for the child’s development, as well as refractive errors amongst different age groups, amblyogenic refractive errors and prescribing tips. Case examples will be given for prescribing and clinical pearls for working with this age group will be discussed.

Congratulations to ABO Diplomate Padhmalatha Segu, OD on receiving the Henry B. Peters Memorial Award at the Public Health and Environmental Vision Section Awards on October 13 at Academy 2023! Do you have an opportunity to speak to colleagues about Board Certification? Often, optometrists curious about board certification may reach out to a colleague who is a known Diplomate before contacting ABO directly. We often get requests for literature or resources that potential candidates may be directed to. We are excited to have two new videos available that can help colleagues, employers or the public better understand board certification as well as our new CAQ program. Check out the videos here and be sure to pass them on for all who are interested! Board Certification Video   CAQ Video
