Happy Military Appreciation Month! ABO would like to thank all of our military Diplomates for their service! We continue to strive to support our military ODs with convenient testing throughout the world, challenging and engaging learning opportunities and a flexible program structure to accommodate a wide range of schedules and circumstances. Take a moment to appreciate a service member in your life!
Congratulations to ABO Diplomate Matthew Jones on being named the American Optometric Association’s 2024 Optometrist of the Year! Dr. Jones is in private practice in Blytheville, Arkansas and is a leader in the state’s scope expansion efforts. He also served as a board member of Arkansans for Healthy Eyes and is the Past President of the Arkansas Optometric Association. Dr. Jones is currently the Legislative Chair for Arkansas Optometric Association, on the AOA-PAC Board of Directors and a member of the AOA’s State Government Relations Committee (SGRC). Dr. Jones has been an ABO Diplomate since 2016.
Save the date for our upcoming webinar on Thursday, July 25, from 8:00 – 10:00 pm EST! Susan Resnick, OD, presents a course on Contact Lens Management of Presbyopia. Dr. Resnick is a graduate of the State University of New York, College of Optometry and is currently in private practice in New York. She is an ABO Diplomate, a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a Diplomate of the Cornea, Contact Lens and Refractive Technology section of AAO and a fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society. Dr. Resnick has a practice emphasis in the evaluation and management of patients for contact lenses of all materials, optical designs, and modalities and Specialty and Medical Contact Lens Fitting. She also provides anterior segment care with an emphasis on treatment and management of ocular surface disease and refractive surgery and cataract surgery co-management as well as primary care optometry.
