News & Notes

New States Accepting CAP! Thank you to our staff and state Ambassadors for gaining approval for CAP assessments in 5 additional states! Georgia, Maryland, Oregon, Virginia and Vermont are now accepting CAP assessments toward CE requirements for state licensure. As a reminder, ABO sends OE Tracker a file of all Diplomates who pass each CAP at the close of the assessment. Diplomates may also print a certification of completion from their Learning Plan page after passing each assessment if needed for submission to your state board. A list of all states currently accepting CAP assessments can be found in the References section of your Dashboard on www.americanboardofoptometry.org.
Thank you to everyone who attended our recent webinar on January 27! Dr. Brian Hall presented on Ocular and Neuro-ophthalmic Manifestations of System Disease to almost 400 attendees. If you were unable to attend the live webinar, it will be added to our website at www.americanboardofoptometry.org on February 7 and is free to all Diplomates and Candidates. Passing a quick quiz after the webinar will earn you 2 hours of COPE CE. Mark your calendars now for our next webinar on April 5 when Dr. Susan Resnick presents on Medical Uses of Contact Lenses.
