Our latest webinar, Contemporary Dry Eye Management, is now available on our website at www.staging.abo.flywheelsites.com. The webinar was presented on April 8th by Dr. Susan Resnick and was attended by over 300 Diplomates. Watching the recorded version of the webinar and successfully completing the 20-question quiz will earn you 2 COPE approved CE credits. Our next webinar, Pediatric Ocular Emergencies, will be presented by Dr. Kathleen Elliott on Tuesday, August 6th. Registration information for the webinar will be sent out in July.

Congratulations to ABO Diplomates Diane Adamczyk, Chris Quinn, Joseph Shovlin, Stephanie Messner and Leonard Messner!  All were honored with the Presidential Medal of Honor on April 26, 2019 to commemorate 100 years of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and 10 years of Salus University. The Presidential Medal of Honor recognizes alumni for their outstanding contributions to the College and the field of optometry and vision care.

Congratulations to ABO Diplomates Ben Casella, Jennifer Kohn and Zanna Kruoch for being three of six individuals honored by the American Optometric Association (AOA) during their annual awards ceremony at Optometry’s Meeting on June 19, 2019. Ben Casella, OD, will be recognized with the Optometrist of the Year award for his outstanding service on behalf of the profession and the visual welfare of the public. Jennifer Kohn, OD, will be recognized as the Young Optometrist of the Year for being in practice less than 10 years while demonstrating remarkable leadership in serving the profession, patients and her community. And finally, Zanna Kruoch, OD, will receive the Optometric Educator award for outstanding service on behalf of the profession, optometric education and the visual welfare of the public.

Attending Optometry’s Meeting? ABO will be there! Stop by booth 227 to ask a question, pay your MOC fee, inquire about the new CAP program or just say hi. OM is known for offering a wealth of CE opportunities and will be held this year in our home town of St. Louis, Missouri from June 19th – 23rd. Taste some great food at the AOA block party, get active in the Optometry Cares 5K Run/Walk or take in a Cardinals game at Ballpark Village with free food and drink, live music and prime views to watch the game! Hope to see you there!
