News & Notes
Big news for our webinars! On Tuesday, December 4th, ABO will host our next webinar, Clinical Controversies in Ophthalmic Decision Making, presented by Steven Holbrook, OD. Dr. Holbrook practices at the Eye Center of Southern Indiana, specializing in medical/surgical eye care and is an ABO Diplomate. And don’t forget, if you can’t make the live webinar, it is always recorded and available for MOC credit for two weeks following the live event. Now the BIG NEWS! Beginning in 2019, all ABO webinars will be COPE approved. Webinars will be available to all optometrists for a fee, but free for ABO Diplomates and Candidates. To claim the COPE credit, you will need to take a 20 question quiz following the webinar and receive a passing score. If you do not need the COPE credit, you can forego the quiz and still receive 2 CE points towards board certification eligibility, MOC, or toward state licensure if COPE approval is not required. COPE approved webinars will also be available on our website in recorded version for up to 3 years following the live event.
Congratulations to ABO Diplomate Dr. Chea-Yo Chang, who was recognized at Academy 2018 in San Antonio, Texas for receiving the Garland W. Clay Award which is presented to the author(s) of the manuscript published in Optometry and Vision Science that has been most widely cited in the world of scientific literature in the preceding five years.
CEWire will again offer ABO Diplomates and Candidates a discount on their 2019 on-demand CE courses. All courses are COPE approved and require a test with a passing score to earn credit credentialed by NOVA University. You can earn up to 50 credits at a $30 discount off the standard fee by entering promotional code ABO2019. Courses will be available on-demand through May 1, 2019. You can register or check out the list of topics and speakers here.
