Earning board certification is an achievement to be proud of. Not only does it demonstrate your commitment to providing the highest quality patient care, but it is also recognized and valued by the general public. A question we often get from Diplomates is how do we let our patients know we have earned this credential and the standards we have to meet to maintain it.

While we have always provided our Diplomates with logos and wording for business cards, letterhead and websites, ABO is taking an additional step in helping our doctors communicate their board certification to patients. In the latter part of May, all Diplomates will be receiving a package in the mail that contains both an inside and outside Diplomate window cling for their office and a counter card for the reception desk that explains the board certification credential.

Displaying your Diplomate status prominently tells patients that as a doctor, you have gone above and beyond the minimal competency requirements to practice optometry and are committed to keeping up with the latest medical practices through continuous learning and improvement activities.
