Please join us for our summer webinar, The Updated Lab Work Primer, presented by Meghan Elkins, OD.
This course reviews current lab work available to eye care providers. Basic, essential, and specialized labs will be reviewed and important lab terminology and interpretation keys will be discussed. Participants will earn 2 COPE-accredited CE hours after passing the post-course quiz.
Dr. Elkins is a staff optometrist at the Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Huntington, WV and a 2010 graduate of SCO. She completed a Primary Care Optometry residency at the Salem VAMC in Salem, Virginia before beginning her career with the VA.
Dr. Elkins became a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry in 2012 and a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry in 2024. She has lectured for numerous national organizations, state & local associations, private equity groups, and schools. Dr. Elkins is a Past President of the Association of Armed Forces & Federal Optometric Services (AFOS) and received both the 2023 AOA Media Advocacy Award and the 2025 AOA Federal Advocacy Award. She is a two-time winner of the AFOS VA Young OD of the Year, the 2025 VA OD of the Year and the 2025 AFOS OD of the Year.
